About The Book -: The Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra (Baudhayana Srautasutra or Baudhayanasrautasutram) is a Late Vedic text dealing with the solemn rituals of the Taittiriya Shakha school of the Black Yajurveda that was composed in eastern Uttar Pradesh during the late Brahmana period. It was transmitted both orally and through manuscript copying. It was printed in 1904-23 by The Asiatic Society, translated by C.G. Kashikar in part in his "Srautakosa", and as a whole later on. The MSS. Which have been consulted for this third volume of the Baudhayana Srauta sutra are the following: Dvaidhasutra, H, from the Haug collection at Munich, Bu, a MS. From the collection Burnell belonging to the India Office, Ben, copy from a Benares, MS. From Dhar, U, from Ujjain, this MS. Has been found at Gwalior; The vivarana of the Dvaidha is extant and known to me from several MSS., which, however, are far from exact. Of use were also the Prayogasara by Kesavasvamin, the bhasya composed by Sayana, who in his treatment of the darsapurna, b. Karmantasutra, c. Prayascitlasutra., d. Sulbasutra., e. Pravarasutra.
