This book is meant for tribals: Manipur & North Eastern States of India. Manipur is a tiny state but strategically important as it is bordered by various South Eastern Countaries. Before India`s indipendence, Manipur was a Princely State which was mearged into Indian Union. Needless to say the readers that most of the development work, during the last several centuries is concentrated in the valley where as the hill tribals are exploited in one form or other. The hills as mentioned earlier are inhabitated by various tribes commonly known as the Nagas and the Chin-Kuki groups. The relationship between the two comunities is far from satisfactory. Issues or constitutional and administrative problems are minutely examined with special reference to the 73rd amendment and the sixth schedule of the constitution. The book describes in-depth and the educational problems, forest problems , alnd use etc.
