The Guilt is alive is an absorbing novel by Hemalatha Gnanasekar. It is a true story about a calamity that occurred in the author`s life and through this book, she intends to share with the world the pain and sorrow that haunts her. Since the author feels that she is partly responsible for the tragedy that happened in the Cameron Hills of Jamaica, West Indies, she is gripped with a strong feeling of guilt from which she will never recover. The book offers many lessons which are universal in nature. First, it teaches a lesson to the over-ambitious parents who depend too much on their children for support or rather expect too much from their children.
