The narrator of this book has candidly confessed that it will not contribute much that is new to the stores which Indian experience and study have collected. But it may be of service in diffusing information which these stores seclude. The object of the author has been to use an intimate acquaintance with the country to explore such an account of it, of its people and its government, as may assist others to comprehend the problems that are offered by the development of a vast population for whom the British nation trustee. The book is the product of extensive study of Indian life and its sentiment. The subject of the book is very illuminating and delicate in the context of India which generates a good amount of interest among the readers and analyst.
