The author reveals that the object of the present work, which is based on the author`s previous work, Indian Chronology (1911, Grant & Co., Madras), and which will be found to agree in every respect with the results arrived at in that work, is to show (1) for every day in the year, for two hundred years, from 1st January A.D. 1800 to 31st December A.D. 1999, the eras in use at present in different parts of India, Saka, Vikrama, Kaliyuga, Kollam, Bengal San, Northern and Southern Cyclic years, Hijra and A.D.; the solar month and day of the Tamil and Malayalam Calendars; the solar months according to the rasis or signs of the zodiac; the tithi and the nakshatra, with the ending moments of each to two places of decimals, equivalent to half ghatikas; the lunar months and pakahas in use all over India and neighbouring countries; the Muhammadan months and days of the Muhammadan months; and (2) for every ten days in the year, from A.D. 1901 to A.D. 1999 inclusive, the gocharas or motions of the planets in geocentric longitude. For every one of these items the English month and day and week-day are given regularly throughout. This book that spans between 1800 to 2000 AD shows, for every day, the ending moments of the Thithis and Nakshtras with the English, Tamil, Malayalam and Islamic equivalents and for every 10 days between the given time-span that the work deals with.
