Engineering Mechanics is a basic course taught to all engineering students in their first year itself. By going through this subject, students develop analytical skills like applying laws of mechanics to actual engineering problems, splitting big practical problems into smaller ones and solving them in continuity. The theories involved are explained clearly through a number of solved problems and using neat free–body diagrams, wherever required. A section on ‘screw jeck’ in friction chapter and a section on ‘strain energy’ in chapter on simple stresses and strains are also added. The SI units and the notations suggested by Indian Standard Code are used throughout. Problems are solved both by classical and vector approach as required by latest syllabus of GB Technical University (formerly UPTU).
For each chapter important formulae and theory questions are given and objective type questions are presented in the end.ISBN - 9788122436358
