The book has been written in two volumes: VOLUME ONE deals with mechanics, waves and heat, and VOLUME TWO with electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics. The emphasis is on basic concepts which have been developed in a coherent manner from the very beginning. Apart from covering the entire CBSE syllabus for class XI and class XII, the book goes beyond its confines, and becomes more broad based. As such, wider coverage of topics should provide flexibility in its use in various States. In this format the book should be acceptable in other countries also.
SI units have been followed. Theoretical details of laboratory experiments usually performed and instruments used at this level have been given.
