Description: The management of babies born without a normal anus and anorectum has been the subject matter of numerous publications over the last 2 centuries. The malformation occurs more commonly in the Indian subcontinent than in other parts of the world. The author’s earlier book published 14 years ago was based on a study of 1250 patients with this malformation. Since then another 858 patients have been studied and the advances made in embryogenesis as well as in diagnosis and management have been recorded. The book is targeted at the young surgeon who has to deliver quality care in situations with limited resources.
