Teacher Education is continuously in the state of renewal. Therre are fair expectations from Teacher Education, which it is trying to meet. The latest Teacher Education Curriculum Framework brought out by the NCTE envisages to develop Humane, Professional and competent teachers. The vision is to prepare excellent teachers for the school education of tomorrow. How to realize this vision? What could be the role of various bodies in promoting quality in Teacher Education? How should the mechanisms for recognition, quality control, assessment and accreditation of the Teacher Education Programs and Institutions be strengthened? How can the teacher education Institutions programme achieve the global standards. There are many such emerging issues in Teacher Education.
