Distance education was begun with an eye on providing quality education in the rural and less developed or underdeveloped parts of the country. The student has to choose a centre near his residence and can consult teacher in the face of nay difficulty or for appearing at the final examination. For the ease of students, holidays, Sundays, Sundays and Saturdays (where Saturday is an off day) have been fixed for interaction.
