In this study an attempt has been made to analyze the role of electrification in the development of rural sector with reference to Nagpur District. In Nagpur District also electrification for the development of agriculture is one of the essential requirements. It changes the traditional pattern of agriculture and helps in improving the standard of living of the farmers. Though the importance of electrification is largely recognized, still the use of electricity for farm use is far from satisfactory in some of the backward areas.
