This handbook has been written with an aim to serve as a ready reference for the officers of the Indian Army who would like to know something about their legal rights and responsibilities. It covers important definitions, right and privileges, conditions of services, jurisdiction, military crime, court of inquiry, administrative action, grievance redress, summery punishments, court martial process, and jurisdiction and power of the Armed Forces Tribunal. It includes provisions contained in the India Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence act, as they relate to the personnel of the Indian Army.
