The book, Elements of Biometrical Genetics, was a maiden effort of the author to present before the post-graduate students of Agriculture faculty specializing in Plant Breeding and Genetics, a relatively difficult treatment of genetics in a simple and lucid manner. Although several authoritative works on this subject are available in the market, many of the topics are not presented in one and same book. The language of English authors is a bit difficult for comprehension of Indian students. Student of biological sciences have some aversion to the mathematical treatments of their subjects. Students of Plant Breeding & Genetics are no exceptions to this. Hence, the author attempted in first edition of the book to present the subject in a relatively simple and lucid language. The mathematical treatment has also been very carefully handled. After a topic has been theoretically elucidated, solved numerical example is described followed by interpretation of result. The first edition was received very warmly by the post-graduate students and even the teachers of several Agricultural Universities of India and abroad. Number of Students requested to incorporate many new topics and upgrading the book. Hence, in the second revised and enlarged edition of the book, brought out by M/s Concept Publishing Co., New Delhi, a few new topics have been included, like Triple Test Cross, Combining Ability Analysis (Diallel Approach) over environments. However, the elementary nature of the book has been retained. Many topics have now been dealt with at more depth. The revised and enlarged edition will now be more useful to post graduate students of Agriculture Faculty, specializing in Plant BreedingISBN:8170226678
