Nolambavadi is the historical regional name of territories controlled by the Nolamba dynasty from the late eighth to early eleventh centuries. The region has temple architecture and sculpture that warrant inclusion in art historical accounts but have received scant attention. This study fills the gap and offers the first comprehensive analysis of monuments built during the Nolamba period. The study provides a summary of the political history of the area and analyses in detail central, eastern and southern Nolambavadi monuments. Appendices and a glossary add to the utility of the work. It is profusely illustrated with over 75 b/w photographs. A pioneering work in an area unexplored so far. ISBN: 81-7304-222-5
