This easy reading book is a collection of short travels that the author made in the 1880’s. the book starts with his recollections when he visited the Himalayas for the first time, and proceeds to describe his travels to Kangra; from Kullu to Shimla; from Turkistan to India; the Karakoram mountains; the Mushtagh pass; through Kashmir; Ladakh; his meeting with the Kirghiz; search for the Saltoro pass; Hunza, etc. The book is replete with personal experiences (some times religious experiences too), with the author describing all his adventures. There are notices on geography, fauna, and towns that he visited. The question of Russian occupation of various parts in the Karakorum and Pamir mountains is also dealt with. There is a map of his travels in this book, which is a reprint of the 1924 edition.
