Specimens of all the important textiles manufacturers of India exiting in the stores of Indian museums. Each sample has been prepared in such a way as to indicate the character of the whole piece from which it was cut and thus enabled the manufacturer to reproduce the article if he wishes to do so. It is shown that a very large proportion of the clothing of the people of India, whether Hindu or Muhammadan consists of article which are untouched by needle or scissors. These article leave the loom in a state ready to be worn, and have their analogoues in our shawls, Plaids, and Scarfs. The principal of these are the Turbans, Loongees, and Dhotees worn by men, the Sarees worn by women.
