This book, illustrated with sketches, gives a concise account of Awadh (Oude), and of the city of Lucknow, historically, socially, as well as architecturally; these are 3 sections that the book is divided into. In the section of history notices are offered the Muhammadan period, the English period – before and after the Mutiny of 1857.
