This book, which is in the Tamil language, gives the history of Jaffna with special reference to the Tamil presence there. Tamil literature in Sri Lanka has lived, written and been read through the kingdom of Jaffna, the rule of the Portuguese, the Dutch, and the British. By the time of independence, the tradition was over 600 years old.
