Punjabi is the spoken language of a very large population in India and Pakistan. In India, script used for Punjabi is Gurmukhi, while in Pakistan the Punjabi is written in Persian script. There are millions of people settled all over the world who speak Punjabi even through many of them may not be knowing either of the scripts. This dictionary is compiled for those who will find it more convenient to read and write Punjabi in Roman script. Equally important it will be for foreigners who are doing studies on Punjabis, even though they are not well acquainted with Gurmukhi or Persian script to read Punjabi language. This Dictionary is the product of extensive study of this language. It is very useful for the learning and teaching of this language. The student, learner and teacher will find it more convenient to acquire the knowledge of Punjabi. The author had the components of this work printed in individual parts in India between 1902 and 1906.
