Jammu and Kashmir has remained in limelight of the world primarily because of its conjoining of two Asian giants India and China and also because of lying at the root of the chronic ailment that India and Pakistan carry since independence.

Since Ladakh is culturally a homogeneous region strengthened by the reality that it also represents a distinct racial stock, it has developed an individuality which exercises a considerable influence over the intra-state dynamics.

The present book brings into fore that the region of Ladakh has suffered on several accounts when compared to Kashmir and Jam that pleads for a separate Union Territory status or statehood for the region of Ladakh. Thus it will be in great national interest that the central and state governments should look into the disparity and open more avenues of development in every field in the region.
