George and the Big Bang was published in 2011 and is a space adventure meant for children above 9 years of age. In the book, which is the third in the series, the protagonist is young George who is friends with next-door neighbour Annie and her father Eric, who is a scientist. In the past, Eric’s super computer Cosmos had taken him and the children on space adventures. In this book, Eric is about to take part in one of the historic experiments of all time to determine and analyse the conditions of the universe due to the Big Bang, which will be recreated by the Large Hadron Collider. Quite by accident, George and Annie discover that some members of the group TOERAG (Theory of Everything Resists Addition of Gravity), an anti-science group of protesters, are out to sabotage the experiment and destroy the Collider. The rest of the story is about whether the kids can stop them in time and how they go about doing it. There are also details about some of the latest theories on time travel and the Big Bang theory along with fantastic pictures of space.
