The "Modern Zoology" is authored by Dr. Ramesh Gupta with the help of late of Dr. Sudhir Gupta (Ph.D. in Biochemistry) and Manju Gupta (M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry). Zoology was first published in 1987 and is currently running in its twentieth edition. This book is perhaps the most comprehensive modern treatise, available for Indian students, who are preparing for plus two (+2) examinations of different state boards, or for the various Medical Entrance Examinations.
The highlights of the books are comprehensive accounts in lucid style, simple language and modern perspectives, of all the various topics of Classical, as well as, Modern Biology. The text matter is well explained and richly illustrated. All chapters include many revisions and objective questions.
It is a global awareness that, due to the invention of Electron Microscopy and a number of sophisticated biotechniques, "Life Science" has taken great strides during the second half of the last millennium, immensely widening the horizon of our biological knowledge, both in contents and depth. These modern information explosions have established a new discipline of "Molecular Biology" in Life Science. This discipline envisages that, "The story of life is, in fact, the story of molecules", and the "Molecular organization is the logic of life".
