This book consists of two Acts, namely the Sale of Goods Act, 1930 and the Hire-Purchase Act, 1972. Though it is written for the guidance of students, yet it will serve the purposes of the legal professionals who are practising in this fieldA‚ of law. In Part I of the book some matters, such as (1) Conflict of Laws in Respect of Sale of Goods, (2) Applicability of conflict of Laws to Contract Concluded ``on line``, (3) Remedies Affecting the Goods of Unpaid Seller in International Trade, (4) Currency for Payment, (5) Payment of Sale of Goods by Credit Card, (6) Internet Payments, (7) Payment in Overseas Sales, etc. which often arise in day-to-day transactions, are given to throw some light to solve the problem. The Part I of the book contains section-wise commentary on the provisions of the Sale of Goods Act, 1930 with reference to corresponding provisions of the (English) Sale of Goods Act, 1893 and the (English) Sale of Goods Act, 1979. All upto-date case-laws of the Supreme Court and important decisions of different High Courts are given under different sections which are relying on or supported by English, American and other foreign decisions. In appropriate places illustrations based on case-laws are given to explain the points of law. A comparative study of (Indian) Sale of Goods Act, 1930, on the one hand, and the law relating to sale of goods in the U.K. and the U.S.A., on the other hand, has also been made in appropritate places.
In Part II of the book the Hire-Purchase Act, 1972 has been discussed with section-wise commentary. Wherever possible, the corresponding source of provision of section of the Act has been given.
