About the Author Sylvia Ann Hewlett is an expert on talent management. An economist and founding president of the Center for Work-Life Policy, a non-profit think-tank, Hewlett is the author or co-author of 11 books. Much of her writing focuses on how best to manage high-performing women, minorities and multicultural workplaces.
Hewlett`s books include Creating a Life: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Having a Baby and a Career (2002) and Off-Ramps and On-Ramps: Keeping Talented Women on the Road to Success (2007).
More recently, in Top Talent: Keeping Performance Up When Business Is Down (2009) Hewlett explored the wide range of tools and techniques available to employers struggling with both how to motivate and keep the loyalty of workers and managers; and boost their performance when business is down.
