About the Author Floyd Gracias is a practicing Advocate at the Bombay High Court. Having excelled in his legal studies, he graduated in 2007 from the University of Mumbai. From an early age, his love for this noble profession was evident and increased with every passing day. On attaining his degree, he started practicing independently and undertook matters with regard to Human Rights, civil litigation, etc. He was empanelled on the Legal Cell and Civic Cell of St. Peter`s Church, Bandra and is also a member of the esteemed Christian Legal Association (C .L. A.). Along with practice he has been teaching Law at various undergraduate and management institutions in Mumbai. Till date he has conducted workshops and seminars on various topics on law, including the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens` Act.
He has also been consulted by several welfare organizations and NGOs on various issues from matters associated with senior citizens to Human Rights and matters of Public and Civic Interest. He has been of legal assistance and provided pro bono legal advice to several organizations.
Constitutional Law and Human Rights being his forte, he got associated with the enforcement of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens` Act, 2007 in Maharashtra and has been in liaison with the Government of Maharashtra in connection therewith. With this foresight he began writing A Handbook on The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens` Act, 2007 his first independent publication, to equip the senior citizens and parents with a better understanding of the Act and the Rules.isbn-
