Special education, as the term suggests, is meant especially for those who unable to get education in the normal manner as we can, that is to say, the disabled or physically challenged boys and girls.
Science has revolutionized whole of the human life. It has opened windows of opportunities not only for those in sound health but for the deprived ones.
The Almighty has endowed few with some or the other extraordinary qualities. These chosen few, in due course of time, make use of their abilities and as a gratitude to their creator, present their brethren such a gift are Braille sign, which were named after the inventor`s name who was himself a visually disabled genius. Similarly, here are sign for the deaf and dumb, called ˜Deaf Finger Spelling`. In this system, both the hands are made use of. These sign differ as regards the British and American spelling.
There are separate institutes for students, who belong to this underprivileged class and certain universities, which impart education to normal students, also run department for the disabled.
Through these signs, a blind or a deaf person acts like normal chaps and so far almost every subject of study has been translated into the concerned particulars language. While the Braille signs are composed of dots, the figurers spellings consist of different shapes and mould of fingers and their interlocking. Braille language and finger spelling are the two important and powerful tools in the hands of the teachers, teaching the disabled.
Though much has been written on the subject earlier also there was being felt an urgent need for a comprehensive work in this regard. We are happy to bring out the awaited book and hope that it would serve the needy at the maximum.
