This book comes in form of accumulation of various important articles as well as significant case studies presented by eminent scholars and professors it is a compilation of real authentic research papers on various aspects of emerging Issues In the field of economics, marketing, finance, humanities etc. The first chapter `A Socio- Statistical study of a composite index of human wellbeing` emphasizes the need of quantitative policy-theoretic circular causation Interrelationships that underline the study of composite human wellbeing index. It advocates its introduction into development theory because the present state of measurements by means of HDI and other development in indices such as Human Poverty Index (HPI, HPI2), Gender Development Index (GDI) and Gender Empowerment Index (GIM), does not explain the Importance of Interrelationship by learning, hence interrelation between the composite development variables and indices. Next chapter "Financial crisis and the Deterioration of Human Development In South Korea and England" highlight the short term and long term effect of 1997 financial crisis and of the intervention of the international financial institute (IFIS) in South Korea and Thailand. The chapter `Nutrition and Health Transition Lessons From Kerala" presents a detailed overview of Kerala`s well planned Human development policies, at the same time it also warns that Kerala is undergoing a transition period in which the advancement gained in health care in the initial stages of development in 1960`s and t 970`s and t 980`s is now eroding fastly due to the hike in the morbidity load on the one ride and gaining momentum of the nutritional deprivation among the under five children. The human development report 2005 for Kerala and NFHS 3 report also shows trend in this direction. "Benefits of Government Expenditure on Higher Education - case study of Coimbatore District, Tamilnadu" says that there is ample evidence that education makes both a direct and an indirect contribution to economic growth, but the chicken-and-egg relationship between education and growth can never be fully established. The Author further advocates the concept through the case study accomplished in Coimbatore District, Tamilnadu. He explains that how tamily income occupation of father, family size, parents education and mother`s working hours and private cost of education had significantly influenced the demand for education. The significance of this study is the inclusion of mother`s occupation as one among the variables and profit method used for analysis of demand for education. In the case of mothers occupation, it had positive influence on demand for education. To be more specific, wherever the mother was a government employee, the enrolment of students and there by awareness at the importance of education was more than other occupation group mothers. The study "Public Health Services in Malaysia: Is Privatization and appropriate Policy option?` brings out a very analytical survey of public services in Malaysia. Privatization of social reproduction like education and Public Health Services (PHS) has become a very debatable issue in recent years in Malaysia. The issue is critical in the sense that it is a reflection on the legitimacy of the government as a social welfare maximizing agent and also on its ability to provide goods for social reproduction. The author deals with the issues layer by layer. Initially he concentrates on the salient feature of PHS followed by on analysis of the determinants of recourse allocation for PHS. Later he discusses the problems relating to health care products, followed by an analysis of privatization and allocative inefficiency. The next section presents an idea about the problematic of PHS and the last section makes some concluding observations regarding this.
