Public speaking involves speaking to a group of people in a structured, effective manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners. In public speaking, as in any form of communication, there are five basic elements, often expressed as “Who is saying what to whom using what medium with what effects.” Relevant speeches are good speeches – if it matters to the audience, then they will listen. Convey a positive attitude and bring energy to your speech. People will likely remember this (if nothing else) and this can cause the central message of your speech to be better received. It is very important that you pay attention to even the smallest details. You can never overplan. Remember, “He who fails to plan is planning for failure.”
