Information, Communication and Technology has completely revolutionized the whole world. In fact it is an age of information explosion. The present book entitled “ Women and Law” is also a new concept towards teaching through audio visual aids like video films, TV etc. The University Grants Commission are also seen on air. Rameshwari Pandya, a well known write of book in the field of women studies on varied subjects. At the same time the author is a author or co-author of more than 100 articles on such subjects which are closely related to women. Though the Indian Constitution has provided several constitutional remedies for women against Crimes and Violence being committed daily against women not in India but the whole world over. The author has provided a comparative figures of crimes and violence committed against women in the world. Problems of women like, Eve teasing, Inheritance, Marriage, Dowry, Divorce and Rape. The present study aims at developing a course and a video instructional package on ‘Women and Law’ and measuring the effectiveness of package with the students of Faculty of Home Science, MS University, Baroda. The author has prepared video films on the above quoted subjects and taught in the class and it is found after the investigation that the study has a widespread effect on the students minds in making them aware about the laws, legislation etc. made against the women. There is a wide spread media coverage and production of reports of Govt. of India and Voluntary organizations monographs research papers, reports of seminars and conferences on Women and Law. The nucleus of the study is based on developing course, producing video films, experimented with the video films on Women and Law. Therefore, the book will be extremely useful for teachers teaching Women and Law through audio visuals materials like Video Films, in the class. The book is very informative containing a lot of material selected from various sources as quoted above. The Social Scientists working in the field of women studies will find the book useful. The students doing researches on women and law, the book beacons their way to a large extent in finding useful material reproduced in the book in a comparative method. The book therefore will be an useful addition in the Women Studies section.
