The present book is the outcome of three National Seminars on the topic - `People`s Role in 1857 Uprising-Delhi and Neighbouring Region`, organised by the Centre for Research and Publication of Surajmal Memorial Education Society, New Delhi. This volume includes forty-four research papers presented in these national seminars. These papers cover a very big geographical and cultural trail of Delhi, U.P., Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and upto Bihar with inputs from literature, folklore, archaelogical records, local narratives and even scientific themes and perspectives.
