The second edition retains almost all the material in the first edition. Major changes take place in chapters. To the chapter on Group Theory, new sections on abelian groups, finite abelian groups and solvable groups, nilpotent groups and perfect groups have been added. These are discussed at proper places to link the matter in lucid and coherent manner. To the chapter of Ring Theory, new sections on special class of rings, quotient field, maximal and prime ideal are included. To the chapter on vector space, new sections on inner product spaces and R-Modules are included.
