This account to the court of Timour (Tamerlame) is one of the oldest travel accounts of Spain. The author was sent as a return embassy to the court of Timour at Samarkand in 1403. He wrote a description of all the countries that he passed through. He begin with a daily account from Cadiz to Constantinople before it fell to the Turks; he describes the dangers of his voyage on the Black Sea and recounts his adventures in the long journey to the kings court in Samarkand.
