Dr. B.K. Chakravarti, born in 1930 in British India, has been associated with the Hotel Catering Education in India almost from its early days. After his retirement as Director Institute of Hotel Management (Ministry of Tourism, GOI), Patna, he was invited to start and co-ordiante the new Hotel Management Deptt., at Birla Institue of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi (a Deemed University of International repute).
