About the Author

An alumna of St. Mary`s School, Shillong and Guwahati University, the author is a teacher by profession. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights from the Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi. The author started her career as a sub-editor in a North East English daily and eventually moved to teaching. She has widely travelled to remote and insurgency-affected areas of the North-east and Jammu & Kashmir and has had the unique experience of interacting with a cross section of people and troops wherever she has travelled. Besides publication of her poems and articles in dailies, the author`s poems have found a place in books published by the Govt. of India on 50 years of Indian Independence.
