About the Authors
Sangam Racherla is an IT Specialist and Project Leader working at the International Technical Support Organization, San Jose Center. He holds a degree in electronics and communication engineering and has nine years of experience in the IT field. He has been with the International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) for the past six years and has extensive experience installing and supporting the ITSO lab equipment for various Redbooks publication projects. His areas of expertise include Microsoft Windows, Linux, AIX, System x, and System p servers, and various SAN and storage products.
Vikas Bajaj is a Senior Associate IT specialist (storage). He has been working with IBM for the last three years in the area of IBM storage, Brocade, and Cisco. He is responsible for maintaining the storage infrastructure for India Software Lab (ISL), which includes administration of IBM DS8000, DS6800, DS4700, Brocade Fibre channel switch, Cisco fibre channel switch, and IBM N series NAS boxes. Vikas provides day-to-day support to the clients on IBM storage and also helps design and implement IBM storage solutions for internal clients. In the area of TPC, he has provided training to partner labs and has had articles published on TPC implementation.
Emile Knebel is a Senior IT specialist at IBM The Netherlands. He joined IBM twelve years ago at the IBM Business Partner technical marketing support line. After this period, he had eight years of experience in open systems platforms within STG, during which he built technical pre-sales expertise within Server Consolidation and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) projects. After being people manager in the IBM ISC Deal Hub organization, he returned to STG The Netherlands, to become Storage Product Manager for IMT Benelux. Emile held this job for almost two years.
Glenn Korn is a member of the World-Wide Technical Support Marketing group for the IBM Systems and Technology Group where he specializes in SAN Storage solutions. Glenn has been working with computer hardware and networks for over 18 years. He has extensive experience in IT support of both hardware and software. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Novell CNE.
Anna Kutepova is a Customer Quality Engineer (problem analysis of the installation process for the DS8000 data storage server) on the IBM DSS plant in Vac, Hungary. She is a leader of the Customer Engineer Workshop project for DS8000. She has connection with Budapest University of Technology and Economics and leads students` projects as a consultant from manufacturing.
Gary Newell is a senior support specialist in the UK working for the last 10 years on open systems storage, SAN, and virtualization products. He has been with IBM for 10 years and has worked in the UK hardware support center and on EMEA PFE teams during that time. Gary has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry, having worked in European and worldwide support roles for Honeywell, StorageTek, and Sequent before joining IBM.
Sebastian Szumczyk is an Accredited IT Architect for IBM Global Technology Services from Warsaw, Poland. He has 12 years experience in the IT industry and has focussed primarily on infrastructure architectures in the last four years. His areas of expertise include Tivoli Storage and System Management, pSeries, AIX, virtualization, storage, and high availability solutions. He holds several certifications in the technical field, including the prestigious IBM System p5 Certified Advanced Technical Expert certificate.
