Standard texts on astrology define and present charts of Shadvargas but very few books say about the utility of Shadvargas. As a result most of the astrologers are in dark about the practical utility of Shadvargas. It is for the benefit of such astrologers that the author has made collection of materials available on the aforesaid topic Vriddha Yavana Jataka, Saravali, Brihat Jataka, Hora Pradeepa, Parashari Hora, Mansagari, Jatakabharana and others. All these materials are present in this book. The same is also accompanied by critical notes and comments, where felt necessary.
The present book is in six chapters. The first chapter deals with Rashi Varga, second chapter deals with Hora Varga. Third chapter deals with Drekkana Varga. Fourth chapter deals with Navamsa Varga. Fifth chapter deals with Dwadasamsa Varga, Sixth chapter deals with Trimsamsa Varga. In fact these are known as the Six Vargas of a planet in a horoscope. Naturally, a planet as a whole may be giving results of various kinds. This is perhaps one of the reasons why we have had experiences of varied kinds in Dasa-Antaradasa of planets in most cases.
