This concise 59--page book is a kind of monograph on the Vaishnav sect; though it also gives, in the opening pages, a short account of Shiva/Rudra. The book then proceeds to notice: the cult of Vashinavism; the intolerance of Vashinavs; the Gowd Saraswat Brahmins (this includes a short history, historical anecdotes, peculiarities of the worship, and brief notice of their beliefs). The book ends with a few Konkani folktales: the story of the Jamboo fruit; the cupidity of a Brahmin; the bran maid; the cruel step mother; the tale of the wax doll and the cow dung girl; the last folk tale is Ravalo Shenai and his shrew of a wife.
