Although foreign winds blow strongly over Proxy, the latest offering from Amrita Ganguly’s treasure trove of words, Ms. Ganguly, in this collection of poetry culling the best of her past work as well as some more of her newer writing, touches upon dimension and parameters of life, issues and emotions that are experienced by people the world over, whether they’re red, black, white or brown. After all, we all live by proxy; we are each other’s proxy. When asked about her intent in writing Proxy, Ms. Ganguly stated that for her, writing has a always been a way of unleashing emotions and perspective in a creative form. Books are meant to be shared with all and one alike, and through her books, Ms. Ganguly hopes to be a voice-piece for those who are unable to express or create in tangible form emotions and ideas which are omnipresent but not stated.
