During his nine years sojourn begun 1672 and finished 1681, the author delved deep into a singularly wide and varied knowledge of the geography, history, archaeology, natural productions, languages, religions, superstitions, and customs of India and Persia to collect information and data which he incorporated into the three volumes of the book in a consistent manner. The books got further consistency with maps, figures and useful tables. The subjects of the books are very interesting and informative in containing observations made of the moral, natural and artificial estate of those countries. Further, it contains many adaptations or corruptions of words and phrases in various native languages, the origin and explanation of which is familiar to officers who have served in the East, but of which the European reader requires information. The author has preserved the figures from oblivion which he considers his duty in the interest of the discourse. So, the three volumes of the books are immensely beneficial for readers, analyst and researchers.
