The Thea Stilton series are part of the original Geronimo Stilton series books for children, between ages 6 and 12. Geronimo Stilton is a mouse-extraordinaire. He is an author and the journalist and editor of the newspaper, The Rodent’s Gazette. When he’s not working at the office, he’s busy solving crimes. Geronimo is a mouse, who is often pulled into solving mysteries with his younger sister, Thea Stilton. Both are often helped by Trap, nephew Benjamin, and Aunt Sweetfur. The adventures are narrated in an autobiographical format.

It all begins with the Thea Sisters’ visit to Spain, where they are visiting a friend at a colourful festival. When a fan gets stolen, their entire trips turns into mystery-solving investigation. As they begin to put clues together, the Thea sisters find themselves on a trail leading to some secret treasure. But someone else is just as keen to grab that treasure. Will they be able to solve the mystery before everyone else?
The series was first published in Italy, and quickly became that country’s most popular books for children. Since the original inception of Geronimo Stilton in 2004, the entire series has been translated into over 35 languages. The books have also been turned into CD and audio versions. A 26-episode mini series debuted in Belgium in 2009.
