A lecture delivered by Rabindranath Tagore on 9 February, 1919, in Madras, The Centre of Indian Cultures was, according to Prabhat Kumar Mukhopadhyay, author of Rabindra-Jivani, the first lecture to be delivered by Tagore in English in India. It was repeated on 27 March later that year, in Kolkata, at the Empire Theatre. A sharply observant and sincere piece of work, it conveys Tagore’s opinion about the prevalent system of education in early 20th century India, and the need for change.ISBN - 9788129100276
