No Fear Shakespeare: As You Like It is a popular comedy by William Shakespeare which revolves around the protagonist, Rosalind. Rosalind is the daughter of a Duke who has been exiled by his younger brother, Frederick, who has usurped the Duchy belonging to his brother and himself.
Frederick has, however, allowed Rosalind to stay back, for she is very dear to his daughter, Celia. When Orlando, a young gentleman, falls in love with Rosalind, he is persecuted by Oliver, his older brother. Following this, he flees from the kingdom. When Frederick hears of these developments, he flies into a rage and banishes Rosalind.
Celia and her jester Touchstone accompany Rosalind and reach the Forest of Arden. Celia is now dressed as a poor woman and Rosalind as young man. This is also the forest where Rosalind’s father is serving his exile and the place where Orlando is hiding.
Rosalind, still disguised as a man and calling herself Ganymede, soon meets Orlando. Meanwhile, Phebe, a shepherdess, has fallen for Ganymede, while Touchstone has fallen in love with Audrey, another shepherdess. Also, Silvius is in love with Phebe.
Soon, Silvius, Ganymede, Orlando, and Phebe clash with each other in an argument. As confusion deepens, a lot still remains to be resolved on many fronts.
Who will be married to whom? When will Rosalind finally reveal himself? What will become of Frederick and what will be the repercussions of the injustice he inflicted upon his brother?
Will everything end in joy and song or will the story leave something to be desired?
