Medical Elementology is a unique synthesis of ancient philosophical concepts and modern sciences. Two ancient concepts viz. (i) Human body is a microcosm which reflects Nature as macrocosm, and (ii) Organised state of elements represents health, and their imbalance causes diseases, were scrutinized in the light of present-day knowledge and global dialogue (in four international conferences). Probably, the key to all human ailments is hidden within the body necessitating a better understanding and utilization of our own resources. This volume embodies: (a) Description of the concept and its development, (b) Short monographs on 92 naturally occurring elements; the coverage includes Category, Distribution in ecosystems, Role, Deficiency, Metabolism, Systemic effects, Intake, Requirements, Medicinal uses, Toxicity, and Guideline values, (c) Diseases associated with deficiency and over-exposure of elements, and (d) Clinical applications (diagnostic and therapeutic uses or potential). Global interest in the role of elements in human health and disease indicates that Medical Elementology has immense potential for development. ISBN - 9788122419924
