Textbooks on Environmental Economics are plentifully available. But most of them seldom satisfy the requirements of academic community due to insufficient explanation on the economic content of environmental damages. Another reason is that some of these books are not simple and lucid. This book tries to overcome the above two limitations by incorporating sufficient economic contents and through unambiguous presentation. This book is arranged strictly in accordance with the requirements of students at the P.G. & U.G. level in all the Universities in general, and Kannur University in particular. The major advantage of this book is the inclusion of most relevant and up to date theories and applications of Environmental Economics. In this book, the readers can realize that, the environmental issues are viewed from an economic perspective, and therefore economic solutions to environmental protection are amply incorporated. The presentation of some of the chapters like the Economics of Sustainable Development, Causes of Environmental Degradation, Economic Resources for Environmental Damages, Preservation of Public Goods, Pricing of Public Goods, Environmental Audit and Management, Environmental Laws, etc. is systematic analytical, simple, and lucid. The benefit of this book is that the students would get enough ideas and informations about Ecology, Environment and Economics and they would be able to refer to the original books which I have referred for the preparation of this book. The main objectives of this book are
to understand the linkages among Environment Ecology, and human being, to create environmental awareness to remind the present generation that posterity depends on the present, to make the people aware that waste of natural resources is a sin, and to submit to the present that let the future should not bear the impacts of environmental damages which the present has been generating
If any one student or teacher views any one of these objectives seriously, the very purpose of this book is fulfilled. ISBN - 9788122422801
