The first volume deals with the ethnology of the area and describes the land, religion, history, rites, septs, fairs and festivities, gods and rituals, superstitions, shrines etc of the Panjab and the NWFP. The next two volumes discuss the various castes and tribes of these areas and are listed alphabetically. This work is a reprint of the 1911, 1914 and 1919 editions published separately.
