It is observed, in democratic politics, the recruitment process plays an important role in liking the rulers and also in closing the gap between the two. Further, it is proved that the process of recruiting candidates for various positions has an important bearing on the nature and functionof political parties. The maturity of the political process can gauged only in terms of political participation and therefore political recruitment has been a consistent tool for the parties to achieve this means.
The primary data for this study was collected throguh interview schedules and secondary material has been collected from journals, books, magazines, and reports as well as Assembly Gazetteers. This study primarily focuses on Nalgoda district in Telangana region, Anantpur district in Telangana region, Anantapur district in Rayalaseema region and Vishakapatnam district in costal Andhra region.
This book is an outcome of Ph.D thesis entitled "Political Recruitment" (1999 & 2004) which was awarded doctorate in the year 2008 by Kakatiya University. The book examines the political recruitment in Andhra Pradesh especially in legistlative bodies at the level os state Assembly and Lok Sabha with respect to 1999 and 2004 elections.
On the whole this study outlines the current political culture, consciousness, ideological component and socio-economic aspects that are operating in the politics both in State and Centre today.
