About the Author: Sue Brock (M.A. Communication) has taught full-time for the Communication Studies department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, since 2002. She has also taught business communication in Cal State Hayward`s Department of Marketing and in the Communication Studies Department at San Jose State University.
Before coming to Cal Poly, Sue worked for 15 years in communication consulting for Coopers & Lybrand, Barclays Global Investors, and Merrill Lynch in San Francisco; and for Financial Engines, Inc., an Internet startup company in Palo Alto. Her consulting work includes investment education, benefits consulting, and speech writing, and she continues to work with a variety of groups, including office assistants, engineers, and executives.
