About the Authors
Mike Ebbers is a Consulting IT Specialist and ITSO Project Leader, working for IBM for 34 years. He has published a number of books on various IT solutions. Before joining the ITSO 13 years ago, Mike worked in as an Instructor and Develop for IBM U. S. Technical Education.
Alvin Galea is a data center and facility infrastructure specialist for the Australia Post Corporation in Australia. He has over 20 years experience in IT and has worked the last eight years directly with data center and facility infrastructure. He has been involved in a number of large data center and facility upgrades, including utility substation, uninterruptible power supply, main switch board, data center layout reconfigurations, standby generator, chilled water loops, and the replacement of three chillers.
Michael Schaefer is an IT specialist for systems management in Germany. He has over 20 years of experience in the systems management field. He holds a masters degree (Diplom-Informatiker) in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. His areas of expertise include systems, database, network, and intranet management on many platforms, including AIX and Solaris, Oracle, and DB2. He has been involved in numerous projects with customers all over Germany, where his focus was on integration of various systems management tools into overall seamless management applications. Currently, he works for the Chip Design and Simulation Center in IBM Germany Research and Development in Boeblingen, Germany. He is actively involved in the Boeblingen Energy Efficiency Initiative.
Marc Tu Duy Khiem Auth Chars Ok Biography is an IT Specialist in France. He is currently leading the transformation of Montpellier Products and Solutions Support Center (PSSC) Data Centers towards energy efficient data centers. He is also involved in the project of building a Green Data Center of the Future showcase in Montpellier to demonstrate IBM and Partners solutions that answer current data center customer pain points.
