The uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources has created many ecological imbalances and deterioration in the quality of environment, leading to several environmental problems. These problems are further compounded by unprecedented population growth, industrial development and rapid urbanisation.
This book attempts to study the process of urbanisation and its impact on environmental degeneration in India, with special reference to Bhopal region of Madhya Pradesh. Author Bio: Sonali Sharma (nee Vishwakarma) earned her M.Phil and Ph.D. in Geography in 1998 and 2005, respectively.
