A most interesting aspect of this work is a discussion on tribal development administration in theory and practice. Ways and means of implementing development programmes successfully are suggested in a new model of didtric administration. Though this study is significant to the tribal development of the entire country. It makes a special study of Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh which distinguished itself uniquely in the 1970s. In 1970-71 a tribal revolt motivated by Communist and Marxist elements in Srikakulam district created a serious law and order situation leading to this out bread, its aftermath and the governmental efforts to ractify and ameliorate the living conditions of the Girijans of the area. The various developmental programmes introduced and the voluntary agencies serving here are analysed. An extremely interesting volume for administrators, sociologists, political scientists, political economists, historians and the interested lay readerISBN:8170221552
